School.  What was the point?  Why was David wasting his time in such a soul destroying institution?  He was a vampire.  Beyond mortal trappings.  Why school?  Why a job?  As a superior creature, was he not above all of that?  It was afternoon.  He wanted to sleep.  That was the natural order of things.  So he found a nice quiet closet, and slept until sun down.

A/N:  Obviously the storyline is only at Thanksgiving, and I didn’t find it necessary to write episodes coinciding with any other holidays, but I had this idea, and its not like I have anything better to do on Xmas.  Sorry you get your Christmas story on the 26th…on the up side, you’ll get another christmas storyline in a month or so when the series catches up.

Christmas Eve 2018

Sprite stared out the window.  Outside snow was falling, the temperature just at freezing.  Inside the room was warm and bright, full of her family.  Really full of her family.  As teens and pre-teens her sister’s kids took up a lot more space than they used to, and the room was smattered with boyfriends and girlfriends brought along for the ride.  Woody had come home from college with a surprise—a wedding ring and a three months pregnant wife. David woke up to a black room.  A tiny sliver of light under the door seemed to fill the room with enough glow to allow him to see the slumbering woman next to him, the blond of her hair, the curve of a bare shoulder.  He was still wearing his jeans and Rita had not taken off anything more than her shirt, but it didn’t matter.  Sex seemed like such a small, pointless thing compared to what they had done the night before.
