Heather Chandler 17
Moves to the neighborhood after her mother loses her job. Her old school had very few demons attending, and the lower-income Rymmer is a strange and disconcerting world. Heather wants to fit in, but hides a terrible secret.

David Spooner 17
Lives on the other side of town in a middle class area with his parents and two younger siblings. He transferred to Rymmer his sophomore year when he was turned into a vampire by an unknown man.

Sprite Hurst-Huxley-Albright 17
Sprite is 1/4 succubus. She has two older half sisters, two younger half brothers, and five nieces and nephews. Being a succubus is a large part of her identity, but she wants people to realize it’s not the only part.

Katharine “Katy” Rundstrom 18
Katy (like ‘catty’ as opposed to Katie) is a werewolf, bitten when she was only 13. Rejected by her well-to-do family, she lives with her werewolf uncle, who had also been turned as a young teen. She loves her uncle and her friends, but is bitter towards her family and has a bad attitude that can get in her way.

Gabriel “Gabby” Toselli 17
Is 100% and completely normal. This disappoints him.

OTHER NOTED CHARACTERS

Lex 19
Lex is the only other werewolf in school. He was born a werewolf by two werewolf parents, which has caused the ‘disease’ to effect him much more rapidly than Katy or her uncle. His parents have both succumbed to their lycanthropy (werewolfism), leaving him a ward of the state and in the hands of an indifferent aunt. He is close friends with Katy, the two of them forming a bond due to their species.

Adrian 17
Adrian is one of Sprite’s many first cousins and like Sprite, is 1/4 Cubi. Adrian is very loyal to Sprite, and they are favorite cousins of each other. He can be found either in the library or working as an office aid, but never in class. Adrian noticed Heather the first time he saw her, except David got to her first. He, however, remains good natured about it.

Grace 17
Heather’s first human friend, Grace tries to stay out of the warring sides of demons vs. humans, but has a very cynical view of the whole thing.  However, she is not above dating a incubus.
Another vampire in school and considered by David to be a geek and his political enemy, because Barnabas took his name from a soap opera vampire played by a human.

Barnabas (aka Doug) 17

Carmilla and Lucy
Both vampires, they consider themselves above David because they drink human blood (even though it’s only through donations). They are prone to black lipstick and dark clothing.

Delia 17
The only one of Sprite’s cousins that she actually likes besides Adrian. Delia is lucky in being only 1/8 Cubi. She does not need to ‘feed’ as much as her cousins and has a steady boyfriend.

Anastasia and Monica
More of Sprite’s cousins, they revel in being succubi. Sprite doesn’t really like them much, but she is still friends with them, even though their sex politics differ.

Rita Chandler
Heather’s mother. She’s not very nice.

Summer Hurst-Huxley-Albright
Sprite’s mother, very caring and well liked by Sprite and all of her friends.

Patrick and Joel
Patrick is Katy’s uncle and Joel is his partner.  They are the only members of Katy’s family that haven’t disappointed or forsaken her.  Joel is fifteen years younger than his werewolf lover, and the idea of one day losing him is painful.

Principal Bob Jackson, aka “The PBJ”
Rules the school with a not-so-iron fist. Has a blind spot when it comes to Sprite and her mother.

Angela Jackson
The PBJ’s little sister and art teacher at Rymmer.  She tries to inspire her students and is a favorite teacher of Sprite’s.
