David was slipping further and further away from her every second Heather was in school, and the party could be her last chance to catch him. She wore turquoise tights under black fishnets, a black cheerleader skirt and the top–the top was an amazing thrift store find from a few weeks before. It was a tube top covered entirely by turquoise sequins. She had found glittery earrings at the dollar store that matched. Her shoes were wonderful spikey heeled boots that belonged to her mother in the 80’s.

Being squashed in the cab between Katy and Gabby wasn’t her idea of a fun ride, though Gabby usually rode with Katy. But Katy was off somewhere, and neither Sprite or Gabby felt like going to study hall, so they were walking together, if only because they went in the same direction.

He glanced over at Heather. She was wearing a moss green striped turtleneck that day. “I like that color on you. It makes your eyes look green.”
